“Breathe”
I’m really thrilled to share that I have a track on the new NWN Records album, “Break Through the Stars.” I’m covering the song “Breathe,” written by Marie Barnett. I’ve been leading this song in small groups and in congregational worship for many years, so having the opportunity to cover it on this new project is so special.
When we interviewed Marie about this song (you’ll be able to see the interview in a future episode of the Nineties Worship Night docuseries that will be launching later this spring), she talked about writing “Breathe” from a place of having to depend entirely on the Lord to sustain her during a very difficult time. Knowing the story behind the song made it even more powerful for me, because I, too, have utilized this song as a tool to get through hard times and to remind myself to lean on the true Source of strength, Jesus Christ.
If you’re feeling overwhelmed, I pray this new recording of “Breathe” will bring you comfort and peace, as you rest in the arms of the One who gives us our very breath and our daily bread, both literally and figuratively.
Job 33:4 The Spirit of God has made me; the breath of the Almighty gives me life.
